Building a Figma plugin to bridge design and product
Aampe's message surfaces lived in the product but were designed in Figma with no connection between the two. I worked on a plugin that lets teams create and preview surfaces directly from Figma, cutting the gap between design and deployment.
Overview
Designers at Aampe shipped messaging surfaces in Figma, but the strings, variables, and localization lived in a separate product database. Every handoff meant reconciling two sources of truth by hand, and every change risked breaking something in production.
I worked on a Figma plugin that reads live content from Aampe's API, lets designers compose surfaces with real data, and pushes approved variants back into the product as a single source. Design and deployment become the same step.
