Designing access control for a multi-team platform
As Aampe's customer base grew from startups to enterprises, teams needed proper role-based access. I designed the permissions system: Viewer, Manager, and Admin roles with permission gating across the product.
Overview
Aampe started as a single-team tool, but as customers like Swiggy and NBA onboarded dozens of marketers across product lines, a "one login per customer" model stopped working. Analysts needed read access, marketers needed publish access, and admins needed full control, all inside the same workspace.
I designed the permissions system from the ground up: three core roles (Viewer, Manager, Admin), per-object gating, and an invite flow that lets admins onboard teammates without waiting on Customer Success.
